Singin On Basie

The Charleston Jazz Orchestra’s second performance of 2010 highlighted classics from composer and musician Count Basie. In the CJO’s 2009 season, an entire show was also dedicated to Basie, but the orchestra’s conductor, Charlton Singleton, received numerous requests for songs infused with vocals from Basie’s extensive music catalog. With the demand for more from the Count, Singleton put together Singin’ on Basie, which featured vocals from Anthony Burke, Leah Suarez, and Singleton himself. Below are some of my favorite pics I captured that night, and like always, it was a jammin’ show.
